Ethically and Effectively Navigating Spirituality as a Secular Clinician | September 19, 2026

$40.00

Spirituality is an important element of personal health. As a clinician in a diverse world, it is important that we are equipped to embrace and assist clientele from a variety of differing worldviews. However, ensuring the clinical space is free from spiritual bias, does not mean that the clinical experience will be free from discussion of spiritual experiences, including negative experiences of abuse, positive moments of spiritual growth, and messy moments of exploration in between. We will explore the world of spirituality, what it means to approach this topic as a secular clinician, and how to manage our own spiritual needs within our profession.

Course Objectives:

1. This course is designed to help formulate a plan for addressing spirituality in a way that is impactful, ethical and effective.

2. Participants will be able to identify common elements of spiritual abuse and discuss impacts of this experience on the individual.

3. Participants will be able to predict potential pitfalls for navigating their own spirituality within their professional experience.
